Business Loans

The Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments has several loan programs for the purpose of creating or retaining jobs within the Kerr-Tar region. There are three different loan opportunities available: Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Micro-Enterprise Loan, and Open for Business Loan.  Each of these loan programs has a different set of requirements and there are different levels of funding. Some are for new businesses, some are for existing businesses, and some are available to both new and existing businesses.

Housing

Kerr-Tar COG currently has two different loan programs for home rehabilitation and repair.  The Urgent Repair Program is available to residents in all 5 of our counties (Franklin, Granville, Person, Vance, and Warren), and the Essential Single Family Rehabilitation Loan Pool Program is for residents in Person and Vance counties.

Planning & Development

Community planning encompasses strategies that link economic development, environment, land use and transportation, systematically working through opportunities and constraints to achieve solutions to our region’s most pressing issues.  The KTCOG is involved in community planning, providing planning assistance to Kerr-Tar counties, municipalities, and citizens in the development of small area plans and other community design issues. This is accomplished by providing local assistance in comprehensive plans, providing training and workshops, and planning and hosting charrettes and workshops.
